Management Excellence Awards

The Management Excellence Awards are designed to recognise Northern Territory managers for their vision and achievement, and to reward them for their management and leadership excellence.

It is one of the few awards that recognise the individual and his or her influence on the environment in which they work.

History

The Management Excellence Awards originally began as the Northern Territory Manager of the Year Awards.

First started in 1989 by the business leaders of the day who sat on the AIM Committee in Darwin, the awards enjoyed a ten year run recognising the Territory's best professional managers and business people.

After a two year hiatus they were relaunched as the Management Excellence Awards in 2002.

So significant was the concept to the practice of management and the recognition of leadership excellence, that AIM in Queensland drew from the concept in the late 90's.

The NT Management Excellence Awards are a nine month long program culminating in a gala dinner and a high profile business event in their October business month.

At an AIM National level, there are hopes this award will be adopted Australia wide within the next couple of years.
