CDU Partners with AIM in Australian First

Practising managers seeking practical business skills education and training in the Northern Territory have been heard.

Charles Darwin University has partnered with the Australian Institute of Management to offer a unique postgraduate management qualification designed by managers, for managers.

AIM NT Chairman, Marie-Louise Pearson FAIM, said the initiative was the first of its kind in Australia.

“AIM has developed a cut through graduate program that is unlike anything currently in the market,” Ms Pearson said.

“The Graduate Diploma in Management Innovation and nested Graduate Certificate in Management Principles have been designed to complement and validate managers’ workplace experience.”

“The Graduate Diploma also offers participants a direct pathway into CDU’s range of Masters programs.”

Uniquely, the AIM developed the postgraduate program will be delivered by CDU to commence in 2006.

AIM has a substantial record as a provider of higher education and also offers a full catalogue of short courses.

Some of these short courses will also be made available to Territorians in a joint initiative with CDU.

“The short courses will be an attractive addition to the NT market, providing accessible soft skills training specifically for adult learners,” Ms Pearson said.

“Each course has been selected from AIM’s full suite of public programs, delivered to thousands of Queensland participants with proven results that deliver back to the bottom line.”

The short course program will also offer Northern Territory AIM members and future members local face-to-face training opportunities.

CDU and AIM will be launching the partnership in August with short courses available to the public later this year.
