Keith Hilless Welcomes New Territory Chairman

The Board of the Australian Institute of Management Qld & NT welcome Marie-Louise Pearson FAIM, to the role of Chair of the Northern Territory Council.

Marie-Louise will bring a strategic focus to the Chairmanship, supporting managers' growth in this fast growing and ever evolving part of Australia.

Marie-Louise's opening statement is below.

AIM NT is going through a period of great change. Outcomes from the last few years of effort are coming to fruition, and now is the time to ensure that the outcomes are what our members need and want, and that our organisation and strategies are refreshed, refocussed and recommitted.

As the new Chair of the Australian Institute of Management in the Northern Territory, I look forward to sharing the new programs that are being launched in the next few months with our members and all Territorians.

These are:

  • The Annual Management Excellence Awards with a record number of nominations and quality field representing government, business and industry in the Territory. Read more
  • A new short course program to be delivered by Charles Darwin University based on AIM courseware in business skills and management, to be launched soon and offered from the September quarter 2005 and throughout 2006. Read more
  • The highly successful AIM Coaching Program for Business Owners and Women in Management to be offered as two separate open course intakes in 2006.

These new initiatives will ensure managers for all sectors have access to contemporary learning and networking as only AIM can provide… and does so throughout its national network. AIM continues to be one of the largest professional bodies in the Territory and the only one specifically “by managers, for managers”.

Through management short courses offered in partnership with CDU, individual coaching programs for managers and their businesses and on-hand support for development of further initiatives and member services in the NT, managers at all levels will be better served.

And this is only the start… The AIM NT Council intends to ensure the Institute is the professional association of choice for Territory managers seeking personal growth.

As your new Chair, I look forward to taking a leadership position in refreshing the AIM NT’s image and strategy, and, to recommit to our members that this is the organisation to assist them in achieving personal and professional successes.
