AIM Grows Executive Talent with New Appointment

AIM has recently appointed a new General Manager, Sales and Operations to lead its corporate learning and development team.

Paul Klotz AFAIM joins the Institute from the Thomson Group where he was State Manager for Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia within the legal and regulatory division.

AIM CEO, Carolyn Barker AM FAIM, said Paul's appointment would see a more innovative and customer-centric approach to delivering in-house development programs.

“Paul's significant experience in solution-focused selling absolutely complements AIM's approach to building organisational capacity,” Ms Barker said.

“Paul will be meeting with a number of existing and new clients in the coming months with the aim of further enhancing professional development within their organisation.”

In a previous role as National Manager of the Defence account within Telstra, Paul managed a portfolio of more than $50 million, generating $17 million in new business during his tenure.

“Throughout my career I have seen many providers sell off the shelf solutions that may achieve some predetermined outcomes for an organisation,” Mr Klotz said.

“But it is through taking the time to understand both the nature of the industry in which they work, as well as the outcomes required, that an effective training program, coaching interaction or customised solution can be implemented.”

Paul is currently undertaking MBA study and has guest lectured within the Griffith University Masters program. He is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and an Affiliate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He has been a judge for the Telstra Small Business Awards and Young Australia Awards as well as a business coach and consultant for small businesses.

Paul joins AIM's General Management team made up of Barry Hankinson AFAIM, General Manager - Corporate Services, Dana Kennedy AFAIM, General Manager - Information Services and Innovation, Vivienne Anthon AFAIM, General Manager - Graduate and Career Centre and Mike Addicott AFAIM, General Manager - TheCyberInstitute.
