4 December 2007 A Message from the Chair2007 has seen consolidation in the Northern Territory of the events that AIM has run. We have gotten older and wiser and in 2007 ran fewer events but higher quality and more specifically tuned to the needs of managers in the NT. The Management Excellence Awards also saw fewer entrants this year, but the quality of the entries and the competition for the prestigious titles was of a very high standard, and all our winners can compete amongst the best in Australia. 2008 will be a high energy year for the Territory. With very fast pace of business growth in the Territory, a new Federal Government and anticipated impacts from global economic flow-ons, all businesses and managers are likely to see change taking on new dimensions in 2008. AIM can provide a space where Territory managers can go for support, networking, training, coaching and simply bright ideas to help make a difference in their work. In preparation for a very active 2008, we welcome three new members to Council – Peter Chilman from KPMG, Greg Caust from the Commonwealth Bank, and Leigh Greig from Cridlands. We welcome their skill, talent and good looks. Well, I have to see if anyone actually reads this newsletter, don't I? Seriously, the role of NT Council is an important one, but nevertheless, we like to have fun too and ensure that we live by our own management principals. I would like to wish all our members, sponsors, and friends a very Happy Christmas, and I hope this festive season is a time that you can recharge your own energies and spend time with those that you love. On behalf of the AIM NT Council, thank you for your support. Marie-Louise Pearson FAIM |
