Automobile Industry Veteran Appointed to NT Council

Linda Deans FAIM, General Manager of The Automobile Association of the Northern Territory Inc. (AANT), has been appointed to the Australian Institute of Management’s Northern Territory Council.

As a senior member of the Northern Territory business community, Ms Deans brings to the council a depth of experience in people management and a new sphere of influence.

“Ms Deans is a well-respected veteran in the automobile industry with more than 20 years of experience and we look forward to her valuable inputs on leadership, marketing, people management, workplace culture, innovative products and creative customer service strategies,” Marie-Louise Pearson FAIM, Chairman, NT Council said.

“We have an outstanding Council made up of influential men and women from both the private and public sectors and we welcome Ms Deans who clearly enhances the Council’s skills mix.”.

As the General Manager of AANT, Ms Deans has unsurpassed skills on operations and finance management and understands the importance of working effectively with various stakeholder groups.

“I look forward to working with the Council to develop career-enhancement opportunities for local business and to further position AIM as a respected voice for leadership excellence, management innovation and career development," Ms Deans said.

“The Northern Territory is increasingly growing into a vibrant hub for innovative business and serious investment with more than 5,800 jobs created in the region last year.

“The Northern Territory boasts one of the fastest growing economies in the country and I see enormous potential for AIM to continue to develop workforce excellence through readily available management and leadership development opportunities.”

Ms Deans is a Fellow of AIM and has been a member of the Institute since 2004. She was also a runner-up for the Professional Manager of the Year award in the same year.
