AIM reinvigorates management in the Northern TerritoryThe Australian Institute of Management has launched a new strategic plan to reinvigorate management functions in the Northern Territory, maintaining the Institute's focus of adding capacity to managers being the managers' career partner of first choice. Encompassed in this strategy is the announcement of a new Chair, Bruce Bird FAIM, and an expanded Northern Territory Council to give more informed input and direction to the AIM Board about management and leadership growth needs in the territory. According to Carolyn Barker FAIM, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Institute of Management, this new direction will see an increased offering for managers in the Northern Territory, as well as expanded corporate partnerships to maintain this offering. "This is a very exciting time for us as we release a range of new programs over the next six months. "This includes the reintroduction of the Territory Manager of the Year program (in 2003), a specific business and management library, and a renewed program of entertaining events," said Ms Barker. This commitment has been formed to ensure cohesive working relationships with the vocational and university sectors in NT, underpinning the AIM Board's resolve to expand activities in both Darwin and NT as a whole.
