Insights from the Top: Clare MartinAIM Event Wrap-Up from NT Council Chair, Ross Bradford FAIM No such thing as quietly slipping into town in the middle of a Federal Election campaign for former Chief Minister, Clare Martin. AIM successfully negotiated time in Claire's very busy diary for her to provide insights on her experiences in senior management. Clare's willingness to share what she believed to be her successes and her foibles demonstrated that she remains a woman of enormous capacity, generosity and vision. Clare provided insights into her years as Chief Minister, from the dual perspective of the Northern Territory's senior politician and her role as mother and partner. She reflected on the variables and pressures in a manner not truly appreciated by those outside her inner sanctum. Clare was willing to take questions on any subject, during and after her presentation. She reinforced the importance of developing your people to ensure they remain equipped to tackle the challenges of the future. She spoke of trust and respect in a professional relationship, the requirement to communicate to ensure a shared understanding, and the importance of having an avenue to ease the pressures of work – even for driven or ambitious individuals. Clare Martin is another high calibre speaker made available to the leaders of the Northern Territory through AIM events. AIM, with the assistance and support of KPMG and IHG conducts workshops and activities throughout the year, culminating in the Management Excellence Awards in October each year.
